The Cross is a symbol of Christ’s sacrifice for us. Colossians 2:14 tells us that Jesus, "cancelled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross." 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Christ paid the ultimate sacrifice for us in his death on the cross. When we take our sins to the cross we can be thankful that God loves us and as Psalm 103:12 says, "He has removed our sins as far from us the east is from the west."
