getting started

Step 1 - Pray

Prayerfully consider whether you should go on a short-term trip. God may reveal only one step at a time, but God will be faithful to lead you!

Step 2 - Get the Details

Review the list of trips. Consider the dates, project and cost involved.

Step 3 - Submit an Application

Submit a completed application, along with a $50 non-refundable deposit to the missions department. You can complete your application online by clicking the apply button on the menu.

Step 4 - Wait for Confirmation

All trips are lead by qualified leaders who will contact you with confirmation once a decision is made. Your application will provide key information to your team leader.

Step 5 - Get Your Passport

If you don't have a passport, you will need to get one. You can get an application off the Internet or at the passport window at your local post office. Many countries require a visa in addition to your passport. It would be a time saver to get 2 additional pictures taken.

Step 6 - Attend Newcomers

If you have not taken this class, we ask that you do. It is offered at the first weekend of the month at every campus. This class will inform you of Seacoast's history and essential beliefs.

Step 7 - Remember the Purpose

Your ultimate purpose must be to glorify God and reach out with His love; it is not to save the world, to reach more people this year than any other trip, or to impress people with your spirituality.

Step 8 - Attend Your Training & Meetings

The training meetings will help prepare you to work as a team on the mission field, and also help you transition smoothly into the culture you are visiting. Your participation is vital to your own preparation as well as for building team unity.

Make sure to download the mission manual prior to attending your meetings.

Step 9 - Raise Support

Talk with your small group, close friends and family about this opportunity. Their support (prayer and financial) is a necessary part of this process. Detailed fundraising information will be provided at your team meetings. Certain costs such an immunizations and passports are the responsibility of the team member.

Step 10 - Come Home & Share

Your stories and enthusiasm will be the instruments God uses to encourage others!
