  • Love Is

What is love? Sometimes it seems like a person can go their whole lives without finding the answer. Our culture’s near-obsession with it is plain to see: how many movies, books, and songs revolve around finding and keeping love? In 1 Corinthians 13 the Apostle Paul wrote one of the best known descriptions of love. The passage is often read at weddings, because it seems to perfectly capture the sort of love that we all long for. But does that sort of love really exist? Join us as we explore 1 Corinthians 13 to discover what Love Is.

  • Palm Sunday

When Jesus arrived in Jerusalem, it was a celebration. The people were ecstatic to see him, convinced that he was the king they had been waiting for. Before the week was over, Jesus was dead and his disciples were in hiding. So what do we do when hope seems gone? When everything that had seemed to be going so well just fell apart. Join Pastor Ernest Smith as he examines the circumstances surrounding that first Palm Sunday and what we can learn from it.

  • The New Normal

There are moments in life that change us forever. Whenever someone becomes a Christian, they are completely transformed. We used to number our goodness in deeds, words, and thoughts. But grace unsettles everything. In The New Normal we will study the book of Galatians to examine the reality of this transformation and the new way of living that comes with it. The problem is that we tend to want to keep doing what we’ve always done – we are constantly trying to improve on God’s way. What Paul told the Galatians 2000 years ago is the same message we need to hear today: the Gospel is the new normal.

  • Immeasurable

We say it every weekend: God is able to do immeasurably more than we could ask or imagine. But what does that mean? What does it look like when God meets our needs and answers our prayers in immeasurable ways? Join us as we examine the verses that close our weekend service.

  • First Wednesday (January 2012)

Pastor Greg shares his vision for the Awake 21 Day Fast.

This is the fourth year that we have participated in the fast and each year has been incredible! Now, obviously participation in the fast is not a requirement, but I hope you will join us as we come together with about 1,000 other churches around the world who are fasting with us during the 21 days.

Fasting doesn’t have to be the same for everyone. Some of you will do more traditional fasts, abstaining from some foods. Others of you need to fast TV, or social media, or caffeine. There are lots of ways to honor and seek God during these 21 days so don’t think that there is only one right way to do it.

  • Christmas Playlist

Everyone loves Christmas carols. From Joy to the World to Silent Night, nothing stirs up feelings of nostalgia and anticipation quite like these songs. During the weeks leading up to Christmas, we hear them everywhere we go, from the grocery store to the dentist. We love these songs that surround us, but do we really think about what we are singing? Have you ever stopped and really looked at the stories these songs tell? They are more than songs – they are the stories we tell and pass down to our children. Each carol has something unique to teach us about the meaning of Christmas, if we will only stop and listen.
