My Small Group is getting too big for my house…what should I do?

When you’re going through the process of assessing whether your group has become too big for your present house, there are really two areas that we need to look at. I think the first that we would look at, one that is probably the easiest to consider is looking within the group itself. Finding out if there is somebody in the group that would have a house that would accommodate the numbers that you have better. That gives that person an opportunity to host the Small Group and gives them an opportunity to see what leadership is like. It’s an opportunity to lead them along and eventually become a full-on Small Group Leader.

The other way is to birth another group. What you would want to do is select a couple or an individual within the group that has been through Small Group training, and then have them take a percentage of the group and move it to a new location. Whether it’s their house or an appropriate place. Those are really the two ways that we use at this point, and I would also encourage you to talk to your Small Group Coach to find a person that is appropriate.
