Frequently Asked Questions:

What is the purpose of baptism?

Through baptism, we identify with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. As you are immersed under water, you bury your old sinful self. When you come out of the water, you experience the new life and resurrection that comes from Jesus.

Baptism is an act of confession and identification with Christ. It is a demonstration and symbol of your covenant with God and your commitment to Christ.

Who should be baptized?

All those who have committed themselves to Jesus Christ as their Lord, by turning away from sin and trusting in Him, should be baptized. For this reason, we do not baptize babies or children who are too young to make this decision on their own.

We offer baby dedication at different times during the year. This is an opportunity for you to commit or promise to the Lord to raise your child with Jesus as the focus of the family. For more information on our next baby dedication, email Paula Fleming to sign up.

Where is it?

The baptism will happen during the last part of the Sunday worship service.

What should I wear?

We will have baptism t-shirts for you change into and keep as a gift. We will also have shorts and towels if needed.

What should I bring?

Most importantly, bring your family and friends! This is such a special experience; we encourage you to share it with those that have impacted your life and your faith.
