Together We Will Make a Difference

Serve Day provides an exciting opportunity for us, the local church, to go into our communities to show the love of Jesus to our neighbors through simple but intentional acts of kindness known as “SERVE projects.” Everyone can participate in Serve Day – small groups, families, singles, people new to the church, and those who desire to be more connected.

Ask God to show you how you can make a difference: create a SERVE project and invite others to join you, or sign up for an existing project and make some new friends.

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another…Do you have the gift of helping others? Do it with all the strength and energy God supplies. Then everything you do will bring glory to God through Jesus Christ.”
1 Peter 4:10-11
Better together.

Small Groups serving together multiplies the impact and demonstrates the value of being in community with other believers.

Frequently Asked Questions

Yes! We will have many projects that you can participate in on Serve Day. Many of the Small Groups leave space for you to join them on their project. In addition, several of our Local Missions Partners will also have projects you can join. All opportunities will be posted by name and include detailed descriptions. Check out SERVE projects.
Most Small Groups take a break during the summer, but we encourage you to join a group in late August/early September when we have “Connect Weekends” across all of our Seacoast campuses. You can also text CONNECT to 320320 to get information about Small Groups or find a group here.
We would love you to be creative and create a project but, you are welcome to join someone else’s project and make some new friends.
Get creative! Assess the needs of people in your neighborhood and around your community. Perhaps there is a widow, single mother, or elderly person that could be assisted by cutting grass or cleaning up their yard. Firefighters, police officers, school resource officers, and local business owners are all great people to serve! Check out some serve project ideas.
In order for all project participants to have the best experience and maximize impact, we ask that you sign up for a project in advance. Each project will have a certain number of volunteer openings designed to suit the size and scope of the project.
Each group is responsible to provide the supplies and costs associated with their SERVE project. Spend time determining the scope of your project and plan your work based on your group size and commitment level.
Seacoast will not be able to provide tax receipts for Serve Day projects but if you or your business would like to provide materials and do NOT require a donation receipt, please work out the details with the project leader.
Plan to bring any personal items you may need, like your Serve Day T-shirt, sunscreen, bottled water, tennis shoes, a hat, etc., along with any items pertaining to your project such as rakes, gloves, lawnmowers, tarps, work tools, etc. For projects requiring physical labor, work clothes are a good idea.
If you have an outdoor project, we encourage you to make plans to have an inclement weather option in mind. Here are a few ideas to get you thinking: visit a local nursing home, bring quarters to a laundromat, take gift baskets or lunch to a local fire or police station, serve with your local food bank, send letters to veterans or those actively serving in the military, or volunteer at a local animal shelter. Project leaders will contact their team members should inclement weather interfere with the original plan.
