At first, Amanda was nervous to go to the ReStart Conference. Someone might recognize her and wonder why she was there. “I had a job in education and was doing well,” she said, “but I’d realized how much I enjoyed advocating for teachers. I wanted to do more for my profession and to dedicate time to finding solutions for education.”

For Amanda, being around people who believe that, too, is important. “I know God has a purpose for me, and it’s great to have the support of others who understand that.”

“I found the courage to take a chance and do something I love. Thanks to ReStart and the support of my school district, I can work part-time in math intervention with at-risk kids—and study education in the doctoral program for Education Leadership to advocate for teachers.”
