The North Charleston Dream Center is dedicated to providing resources and opportunities to low income, homeless and under-served individuals and families in North Charleston and Hanahan to move toward self-sufficiency through building relationships, education and training. Our vision is to establish a community of resilient people whose lives have been transformed and they share that with others.
Adopt-a-Block is the heartbeat of the Dream Center. Volunteers meet at The Dream Center at 10:30 am on the first Saturday of each month to reach out to people who live in neighborhoods surrounding the Dream Center in the spirit of service. Teams clean homes, make minor home repairs, organize community picnics and visit the elderly.
The Dream Center bus ministry started as a way to get people to church and each weekend we pick up more than 50 individuals who wouldn’t otherwise be able to get to church. As transportation is a major issue for a lot of our families, we know that this has the potential to provide so much more – a way out of their current situation and a bridge to transformation!
Dream Center Clinic
The Dream Center Clinic provides free routine outpatient health and wellness services to the medically under-served residents of the North Charleston and Hanahan communities.
Many families have to choose between rent and food. The Dream Center alleviates one choice through our emergency food assistance, providing groceries through a personal touch and communicating a positive message to each family. An estimated 50,000 meals have been provided through the Dream Pantry to our community.
Hours of Operation
The e3 mentoring program matches at-risk youth (third grade through high school) with professional and community mentors on a one-on-one basis. Volunteer opportunities include: mentoring a student, joining a prayer team, or making a financial commitment.
