Connect Weekend: Zoe’s Story

Zoe hopes her new apartment becomes a place of rest for her women’s small group. For the past six months, Zoe has worked to rebuild her trust in the church after struggling with her faith for the past three years.

After an instrumental faith leader left the church she had been attending, Zoe lost any hope for people reaching into her life. “That became the beginning of me feeling like church wasn’t a safe place,” Zoe said. She began to believe she would never have a future with meaningful deep relationships.

But that all changed, when Zoe felt a call to move to Charleston, and connect with people again. Through her obedience, she has made a lot of friends with the women in her small group and has transitioned from fear and isolation, to a community who reminds her that “your fear is not of God.”
