Joey grew up in Charleston, SC and received a degree in Elementary Education from Winthrop University in 1999. After graduation Joey taught school for 5 years and served as a youth minister for New Beginnings Church in James Island. He and his wife, Pricilla, began attending Seacoast in 2001. Their family was a part of the West Ashley campus launch team in 2003. Joey served the West Ashley Campus as a volunteer until 2005, when he became the Young Adult and Student Ministry Director. In 2008 Seacoast launched its James Island campus at James Island High School. Joey and Pricilla led the launch team for the campus, and Joey began serving as the James Island Campus Pastor.
Joey and Pricilla have four children, Rosa, Gwenny, William, and Waylon. In his free time, Joey enjoys playing with his family, sitting in air conditioning to read or watch movies, and playing basketball.
