As Campus Pastor of the James Island Campus, Joey contributes to and oversees the vision of Seacoast in historic James Island. He is passionate about helping people find the peace and freedom only found in the Creator. He wants to help people recalibrate their faith to shed all religiosity that causes fear and bondage, both foes that Jesus wants us free from.
Joey is a native Charlestonian and grew up on James Island. He graduated with a teaching degree at Winthrop University and has a Masters of Divinity from Trinity Graduate School of Theology.
Joey and his wife joined the Seacoast West Ashley staff in 2005 and the James Island Campus in 2008. They have four children – Rosa, Gwenny, William, and Waylon.
In his off-hours, Joey loves to jog, listen to hip hop and cheer for the Boston Celtics, Green Bay Packers, and Clemson Tigers.
